Cré - Graduate Exhibition15 July 2016 – 1 August 2016
CRÉ, an Irish Gaelic word meaning earthen or made of clay. This exhibition presents work by the 10 new graduates of the internationally renowned DCCoI’s Ceramics Skills & Design Course in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.
This exhibition showcases the innovation and diversity in ceramic design and technique of some of Ireland's newest makers establishing their identity in the contemporary ceramic market. CRÉ represents the culmination of two years intensive training in all aspects of ceramics skills and design. Visitors can view and purchase a wide variety of hand-crafted ceramic work ranging from tableware to sculpture to musical instruments.

CRÉ will be offically launched by Dr. Audrey Whitty, Keeper of the Art and Industrial Division, National Museum of Ireland on Friday 15 July at 6.30pm.

Join us for a special Late Date where the new graduates share their learning and experience of DCCoI’s Ceramics Skills & Design Course and talk about the ideas and processes behind the work in their exhibition CRÉ. This informal evening is a great opportunity to Meet the Makers and chat over a glass of wine.

Drop-in with the family to view the stunning ceramics exhibition CRÉ as part of your visit touch and hold the handing pieces in the education area. Once you are inspired we invite you to get creative, designing and making your own imprint pattern clay tile to add to our clay installation!
