National Design & Craft Gallery host a diverse and exciting range of Craft Club Workshops throughout the year, which explore the current exhibitions through playful experimentation with materials, techniques and ideas. On the second Saturday of the month we invite young makers to the National Design & Craft Gallery to take part in a hands-on craft workshop that begins with a tour of the gallery, specially designed to get you in the mood for creating!

Family days are suitable for 5+. As these workshops often teach skills, children should be at a school age, able to concentrate and take direction so that they can fully particpate. Parents / guardians are welcome to stay.

There are many types of mask in the world, they allow use to hide our face, protect us from harm, or even help us to become someone else for a moment in time. Join artist threadstories to explore the mysterious world of masks. Using textiles to create playful pieces, and make individual wearable craft creations. Book here

Join Maeve Sookram of Sevensisters Ceramics to make unique clay decoration that you will cherish! Children will learn how to imprint on clay, how to use clay slabs for construction and will create their very own festive clay decorations. Book here

Learn the basics of the ancient craft of Japanese woodblock printmaking with Debra Bowden. Inspired by Commonworks prints in .OBJ, children will make black and white prints from carved woodblocks onto kozo Japanese paper. Book here
