Call for Workshop Proposals - National Drawing Day

Call for Workshop Proposals - National Drawing Day

The National Craft Gallery invites proposals from artists, makers and designers for workshops to be developed for National Drawing Day 2016. This national celebration of drawing and creativity is coordinated by the National Gallery and takes place on Saturday 21 May 2016 in over 170 Museums, Galleries, Libraries and Cultural Centres across Ireland.

Proposals should take a creative approach to exploring line and drawing, reflecting the artist / makers own practice. We wish to encourage active participation by visitors of all ages and suggest that proposals consider this. National Drawing Day will coincide with the presentation of Liminal - Irish design at the threshold at the National Craft Gallery.

Workshops will take place outside within the Castle Yard area, from 12-4pm on Sat 21st May. Some access to power / water will be available and volunteer assistants will support the workshops. Successful proposals will be paid a workshop fee and materials will be supplied or reimbursed as appropriate.

Email your proposal to Susan Holland at by Fri 4th March, listing National Drawing Day in the subject line. Please include:

- Proposed workshop activity

- List of materials & expected cost

- Summery of previously educational facilitation

- Examples of recent work, small selection of images or weblinks
