CULTURE NIGHT: Festival of Creative Making

Festival of Fashion & Light at the National Design & Craft Gallery
Fri 22nd Sept, 5pm - 10pm

Join us for a craft festival of Creative Making on Culture Night!

Children and young people will have the chance to roll up their sleeves and explore their creativity through an inventive use of materials, technology and craft techniques, and adults can enjoy some light refreshments and entertainment. We will provide picnic blanket, cushions and music. Participate in our free drop-in workshops (suitable for all ages), engage with our interactive zone activities and Irish speaking gallery tours. Workshops and activities include tote bag printing, developing skills to make motorized moving structures and Pom-pom Jewellery. Discover our woven village, try your hand at drawing and enjoy a showcase by the Open Circle group at NDCG.

Our Culture Night workshops, activities and showcases are inspired by our .OBJ exhibition of works by Irish and international makers whose practices are situated at the intersection of the digital and analogue. These makers draw on emerging digital tools and processes to experiment with material practices that are rooted in craft and design traditions, building objects that question and shape our world.

This is a free event. No booking required!
