Workshops and Tours will take place in September 2015
Do you have a favourite space in your home?
National Craft Gallery is delighted to host a series of community-based workshops exploring how we engage with our Homes as part of our Nine Lives exhibition. Architect & Artist Fiona McDonald will give an introductory lecture entitled Home – how we inhabit space.
Participants will have the opportunity to expand and renew their understanding of home and how they inhabit this most individual and intimate form of place through a discussion based workshop. This workshop will be a sociable experience best suited for pre existing groups in County Kilkenny.
National Craft Gallery is interested to hear from Community groups in County Kilkenny who work specifically with older members of the community to contact them. Call 056 7777012 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details
Fiona McDonald is an architect and artist whose spatial practice attempts to expand our awareness of place. In particular McDonald’s research is concerned with sites under pressure of functional, social, political, economic and physical transformation. Her work explores the potential inherent in alternative considerations of space, materials and economic exchange. Her practice operates in the public domain by making drawings, films and architectural interventions that are site-specific and address history, experience, temporalities and functional use.
