National Craft Gallery is delighted to participate in this years National Drawing Day community celebration of creativity, with a day of craft, design and drawing drop-in workshops for adults and children alike in the gallery and in the Castle Yard. We welcome visitors from 5 to 105 to come along and join in!

Having a sharp eye for detail is an important part of being a designer and being able to communicate your ideas is vital too, but ultimately having a unique vision will set you apart! The National Craft Gallery are one of 160 venues across the country celebrating National Drawing Day 2016, join us for an afternoon of drawing activities with a craft and design twist. Adults, children and families are invited to investigate, explore and discover new ways of seeing with our fun range of experimental drawing workshops and activities.

Workshops include:

Stitch Sketching inspired by the architecture of the Castle Yard with Sandra McAlister (over 12 years to adult)

Screen Printing creative patterns on your own tote bag with Caroline Ryan of PrintBlock (over 8 years to adult)

Chalk Making sculpt moulds in clay to create your own coloured chalks with Kate Murtagh Sheridan (over 8 years to adult)

Stencil Plate Patterns inspired by Nicholas Mosse plate patterns with Mary Conroy (5 years+)

Textile Drawings weaving, building and making lines in the garden with Carrie Lynam (3 years+ families)
