A design process workshop with artist Kate O’Kelly, exploring collage techniques and assemblage to create a unique artwork using images of familiar objects. The aim is to create a composition using multiples, pattern and scale. Participants are asked to bring a range of objects that relate to influential women in their lives. The objects will be photographed at the workshop, and used as part of the collage process. Other visual material such as photos, text or clippings can also be brought along.The group will discuss the items brought in and explore how an object can create a visual history of a person.
Kate will give an introduction to her work, addressing the role of objects, assemblage and the design process behind her pieces.
